Rigging a Transmission Selector

For GM cars, the transmission selector is on the left of the transmission below the gas pedal. Remove all of the stock linkage and bolt a section of pipe directly onto the tranny selector (the red circle centres on the selector; I know it's hard to see but it'll make sense when you see it on your own car).

I like to use an 8 inch pipe, then place a removeable 16 inch pipe on top of it. The reason is that with one long pipe you can only get Drive, Neutral and Reverse before the pipe hits the dash or seat. This is fine for the derby, but if you can take out the longer section you can also get Park, which is nice to have while working on the car.
